Goodyear's Lost Order

Joseph S. Nye, Jr. sets out the liberal order while asking whether it will survive.

Listen here for some of the reasons why not.

Notably the Wolverhampton Goodyear workers' reasons for voting Leave. Offered jobs in Mexico, indeed.

And notably both the proportion of British shares held abroad, and the brevity with which they are held.

That is the argument for workers' representatives on boards.

The people in charge used to live at the posh end of town.

But they lived in town, or at least in this country, and they were the people in charge for years, for decades, for generations.

But no more.

The workers, meanwhile, are still here, and they are here for the long haul.
