Kate Hoey For Speaker?

After all, it now alternates between the Old Labour Right (such as there still is in the Commons) and the Old Labour Left (such as there still is in the Commons).

So it's the Right's turn.

  1. One of the most nasty "criticisms" of Gorbals Mick was that the sketchwriters needed subtitles to understand him.
There remains a nasty class based attitude to Speaker Martin.
As Hoey manages to be all things to all people...maybe thats a useful trait in a Speaker. Some of us might call it hypocrisy.
As all successful Speakers are largely anonymous folks who shun the limelight and prefer to work quietly......well thats hardly Hoey who has never done anything quietly.
    Old Left? New Left?
Can international Marxists really change their spots?
    I think not.
Send Ms Hoey back whence she came!.
    On second thoughts.....keep her.

  2. "Can international Marxists really change their spots?"

As I've said before, I'm not sure that she ever was one.

But you are right about the class bias against Martin.

  3. I cant understand your enthusiasm to instal a pro abortionist in the Speakers Chair....at the expense of an anti abortionist.

  4. He's made absolutely no difference on that score. How could he? And he's almost certain to retire at the next Election, anyway.
