Go Nuclear, Stop Trident

I have fond childhood memories of Helensburgh, a shining example, complete with its Rolls Royce dealership, of how the East End of Glasgow is no more typical of the West of Scotland than the East End of London is typical of the South East of England, or the roughest parts of Tyne and Wear tell you anything at all about Northumberland or County Durham.

As an ardent supporter of nuclear power and opponent of nuclear weapons, I am delighted that the nuclear-powered submarines are being moved to Faslane. The argument that Trident secures jobs there will therefore no longer apply.
