Trying Times To Come

By all means let law suits be brought against the Pope once he has abdicated his sovereign immunity.

He would certainly win them, if they ever made it to court.

And then, what would people say?

  1. David,

As I have mentioned in a couple of other posts on your blog (with apologies for continuing to remain anonymous) I am very interested in your Old Labour High Tory ideas. I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a list of books/figures/movements that have influenced your worldview, especially any that directly address the modern political landscape. I would also be interested in any politicians you feel currently reflect any part of your ideology, from any party (although I am a Conservative).

Many thanks and all the best.

  2. Gosh, where to begin? A far from comprehensive list is to be found in Chapters One and Two of my Confessions of an Old Labour High Tory.

  3. Who published the book?

  4. I did.

I got sick of being messed about, and I have to say that it is a much better quality piece of work than many a publishing house would have produced for an unknown. Absolutely free. Seriously, it didn't cost me a penny. It's on Amazon. It sells healthily for what it is. I can't complain.

With commendations by Lord Stoddart, Lord Glasman, Bryan Gould, further distinguished academics, and a leading American political journalist. Again, I got them all myself. It's amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it.

Honestly, I don't know why I ever bothered trying to do it through anyone else. It delayed publication by anything up to a year. And this way, I have still managed to reach all the right people. I know, because they keep telling me.

    Now, on topic, please.

  5. Whilst it would be very trying and completely undeserved for the Holy Father to be taken to court, I would relish the inevitable not guilty verdict and subsequent frothing at the mouth from various quarters.

  6. Sod the book, David, how do we become your disciples?

  7. You don't. You really and truly don't.

Seriously, do please take a look at the book. And keep coming back here, of course.

  9. The download is only a fiver or something, and I get every penny.

  10. Ah the perils of anonymity! Only the OP is mine, the other anonymous is a trouble making imposter! Thank you for the reply David, I will download your book and see if I can mesh it with my conservative instincts. I have Ian Gilmour's Britain Can Work on the way.
