All In This Together

In the ownership of both the generation and the distribution of our electricity, which are already allowed to be owned by the State, provided that that State is not the British State.

And in simply prohibiting by Statute the union of retail banking and investment banking.

Through the public stakes in HBOS and RBS, which ought to be increased to 100 per cent. The profits, which there are when George Osborne is not Chancellor, ought then to be divided equally among all the households in the United Kingdom.

And through the turning of all other retail banks into mutual building societies, ironclad as such by statute, the same Statute Law that already forbids building societies from engaging in investment banking.

Safeguarding the Union. Safeguarding, and indeed restoring, our national and parliamentary sovereignty.

Ed Miliband, Ed Balls and Jon Cruddas, over to you.

Or Nigel Farage. If he were serious. Is he?

  1. I agree with all of this, but I cannot see any of it coming to pass under a Labour government. Then again nor can I see it happening under any impending Conservative majority, but I do see more hope in the Cornerstone Group MPs than in any in the Labour Party. As a culturally conservative christian and countryman I have much to fear from Labour administrations!

  2. Why? It couldn't be any worse, from that point of view, than either this one of the canonised Thatcher Government.

Does the Cornerstone Group even still exist?

  3. The Cornerstone Group still has a web presence, for whatever that's worth! And the majority of the members can be found amongst the lords, eu and gay marriage rebels. Please don't misunderstand my tone, I have only recently found your writings and I completely agree with your political philosophy; I am busily reading your articles from across the internet. I am just surprised that this thought process has led you to support Labour rather than the traditionalist wing of the Conservatives.
