Defending Ourselves

It is almost worth scrapping our aircraft carriers, our Special Forces, our military intelligence and our cyber warfare capability, just to teach Hillary Clinton to mind her own business. What good are they, anyway, if we are nothing but her satrapy?

Still, at least her toy boy was never made Leader of the Labour Party, and has instead been publicly offered, in the Guardian by Cameron's tea boy, a position on the sinking ship that is the Coalition. At least Joe Biden's confirmation that he will be Obama's running mate in 2012 challenges her to mount a primary challenge and thus to see the toxic Clinton brand killed off once and for all.

And at least whoever that was on the Today programme, while he did try and give us the heebie-jeebies about Somalia, Yemen and Sudan, did not insult our intelligence by bringing up Russia, China, Iran or North Korea. As if a bomb from Korea could reach Britain. What next, a bomb from Iraq hitting New York? What, would it be wholly undetectable by any means? Would it be capable of deployment within 45 minutes?

As for Iran, she is the non-nuclear subject of the world's only current nuclear threat by any state against any other state. The aggressor in that case is right there on the Mediterranean coast and, in marked contrast to never having started a war in modern times, has started quite a few since 1948. That state has a lunatic party in government, such as would incur pariah status, as it did in the case of Austria, were it not for Europe's, and thus also the American bases in Europe's, fear of nuclear retaliation in that event. And that is before we mention espionage against the United States, which actually pays for that espionage.
