Erimus

Erunt something, all right.

"Waahh," they waahh. "Thursday's Question Time will be from Middlesbrough, the place in the entire country worst-placed to deal with the cuts." Jolly good. They might even ponder that their party used to do well on Teesside.

Then again, from where, exactly, would they rather have it? And why? Where in this country would function perfectly well without the NHS, state education, public transport, road maintenance, local government services, social housing, the Police, the fire brigade, the courts, and all the attendant contracts?

  1. Have it somewhere which is affected by the cuts but not to the same extent as Middlesbrough so as to ensure some balance?

  2. http://conservativehome.blogs.com/centreright/2010/10/guess-where-the-bbc-is-holding-this-weeks-question-time.html

"Middlesbrough - according to Experian research - is ranked at number 324 out of 324 council areas. In other words (according to the BBC website) it "will be the least resilient to such public sector cuts."

    Maybe 162 on the list?

  3. Where's the fun in that? Or even the interest?

What a blood bath this is going to be for the Coalition. Deservedly so.

  4. Er, yeah, Anon 19:06, that's THE POINT. That's what makes Middlesbrough the most obvious place to have it from, in fact the only reasonable place to have it from. Television is both journalism and showbusiness. This is called journalism. And this is called showbusiness, baby.

  5. Exactly.

I'll be setting the Sky Plus, and I'll still be in black tie when I get in to watch it. A cigar?
