Do You Ken Lutfur Rahman?

A candidate endorsed by a man who was very left-wing a long time ago, when a number of far more prominent people were a very great deal more so, and who has since spent eight years working entirely unproblematically with the City and the Met.

Islamists and Bengali communalists may vote for Rahman. He may therefore win. But they shouldn't therefore get their hopes up, any more than the Andrew Gilligans of the world should be getting their hopes down.

In fact, they might be better advised to vote for Helal Abbas, who came third for the Labour nomination, behind Rahman and a white candidate, but who was imposed specifically because he was a Muslim and a Bengali. How is that even legal?
