Simon Says?

A fifty per cent reduction in the social housing budget. Fifty per cent. No security of tenure. Market rents.

Not only Lib Dems, but Labour backbenchers, Labour frontbenchers, and such Tories as Nadine Dorries are crying out for someone to take a lead. The loudest voice on this issue over the summer was that of Simon Hughes, the very great man who kept Peter Tatchell out of Parliament.

Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems is an unusual position from which to make oneself a major player. But these are unusual times. Simon, over to you.

  2. Peter Tatchell's a friend of yours on Facebook?

Well, he lives in a council flat and doesn't support this proposal!
