Fresh Fields

A supporter of John McDonnell is to head up the policy on poverty, along with a solid Social Catholic. Both are sound Eurosceptics, like all Social Catholics who bother to examine the EU with their brains engaged, and like all McDonnell supporters without exception.

What with this, the restoration of the link between pensions and earnings, the removal of David Laws, the promise of electoral reform, the emerging pay policy, and the return to aristocratic Arabism and America-agnosticism, this Government might not turn out to be too bad after all. Especially compared to another five years of New Labour.

But why should those be the only options?
