Good luck to Lindsay Hoyle (no relation, so far as I am aware) in tomorrow's election for Deputy Speaker. Pro-life, no friend of the EU, and Chairman of the All-Party Group on Gibraltar.
Catholic and other Labour MPs, including John Smith, fought tooth and nail against Thatcher's introduction of abortion up to birth.
Every Labour MP without exception voted against Thatcher's Single European Act. Three times as many Labour MPs as Conservatives voted against Maastricht, at a time when Conservatives heavily outnumbered Labour MPs. The 1997 Election kept Britain out of the ill-fated euro by making Gordon Brown Chancellor in place of Kenneth Clarke.
And the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party was founded out of the T&G, now Unite, specifically in order to secure for the British workers of Gibraltar the same pay and conditions enjoyed by other British workers.
Lindsay Hoyle is firmly in those traditions.
