Those lazily throwing the charge of anti-Semitism at Helen Thomas, a Semite, might consider how spookily like Gold Meir she looks. The same Gold Meir who said in 1969, not only that "the Palestinians did not exist" at the time of the State of Israel's creation, but also that "there is no Palestinian people" at the time that she was speaking.
Considering that the people who became Israelis really did arrive from Germany, Poland and other places during Thomas's lifetime, and considering that Meir's views remain mainstream opinion among them and their supporters, those views are a lot more offensive than anything uttered by Thomas.
Though not as offensive as the events of this day 1967.
