I am going to watch Putin vs the West even though the BBC's appetising vignette is Boris Johnson's claim that Vladimir Putin had threatened to launch a missile strike against him. As a matter of course, any telephone conversation between the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the President of the Russian Federation would have been recorded by both sides. Let us hear the British recording.
Israel is now bombing Iran, and Iranian or Iranian-allied targets elsewhere, because Iran is aiding Russia in Ukraine, because ... well, there are a lot of dots to join, but they do all join up, and the picture that they form is that the war in Ukraine is now also a war between Israel and Iran. Just so that you know that that is what we are now in. With no parliamentary opposition or scrutiny whatever.
But we are heading for a hung Parliament. To strengthen families and communities by securing economic equality and international peace through the democratic political control of the means to those ends, including national and parliamentary sovereignty, we need to hold the balance of power. Owing nothing to either main party, we must be open to the better offer. There does, however, need to be a better offer. Not a lesser evil, which in any case the Labour Party is not.
No way Johnson is telling the truth.
ReplyDeleteSuch a missile attack would have killed a large number of people in, presumably, London. The threat of it would have been a huge story. This is rubbish.
