Concerns About The Provision

A section 35 order with an explanatory memorandum saying that that was a rejection of the principle of gender self-identification itself, and not merely of Holyrood's capacity to legislate for it, or of the specific provisions of the Gender Recognition Reform Bill.

Saying that although the order had immediate effect, there was nevertheless going to a Commons Division on it this week. The motion welcoming the order on that principle would be tabled by the Prime Minister, who would lead the debate. There would be a three-line whip.

And saying that saving the Union was important, but upholding the rights of women by reference to the fact of biological sex, a fact prior even to the Treaty of Union of 1707, was more important, while popular opinion throughout the United Kingdom was itself united on this.

Anything less, and you would be being played. You are being played.
