For The Lanchester Review, Norman Solomon gives some perspective on the Iowa fiasco. But do not credit the Democratic National Committee with the competence to have organised it against Bernie Sanders.
During these three days, Donald Trump has stormed the Iowa Republican caucuses, he is about to deliver a triumphant State of the Union Address, and then he will be acquitted in his impeachment trial, just as he always would have been no matter what witnesses had been called.
But the Democratic Party will take steps to block the nomination of Sanders once it gets round to it after that acquittal. That party is useless. Its only purpose is now to prevent its replacement with anything better.
