No Sheep's Clothing Here

Write it on the gateposts. Tobias Rathjen was on cannabis, or antidepressants, or both. He was also a "lone wolf", since those come only in one colour. There is no such thing as either a black or a brown lone wolf.

An uncouth youth has just told me that, "Ali G was invented to satirise people like David Lammy and Dave." Did I not have the heart to tell him? Or could I just not be bothered? And what next? "Music is not supposed to be political"? Those people already think that about the Durham Miners' Gala, so why not.

This week, the whole country has seen that BAME London is in uproar, and that is before the Leadership of the Labour Party is handed over to a former Director of Public Prosecutions. A pack of wolves, indeed. Although greatly reduced in every way, Labour could survive the loss either of the Red Wall or of London's Black Wall. But it could not survive both losses. It could not survive Keir Starmer. And we do not need it to.

Ours is the 2020 Vision of a new political party, a new think tank, a new weekly newspaper, a new fortnightly satirical magazine, a new monthly cultural review, a new quarterly academic journal, and so much else besides. I will be standing for Parliament again here at North West Durham next time, so please give generously. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
