Moonbase 2029

We have to go back to the Moon, and we will. To the Moon, and beyond. Or are we to keep sending children down mines for lithium, because that is supposedly more left-wing, or more in keeping with our Christian heritage, or both?

The challenge of space is the test to destruction of the ideological denial to the State of any economic role beyond the enforcement of anti-industrial Malthusianism. If God had not intended us to explore space, then He would not have put anything there for us to find. But the "free" market will no more enable us to find those things than the "free" market has ever won a war.

Life is the geological force that shapes the Earth, and the emergence of human cognition fundamentally transforms the biosphere, not least by the uniquely human phenomenon of economic growth, so that human mastery of nuclear processes is beginning to create resources through the transmutation of elements, enabling us, among other things, to explore space and to exploit the resources of the Solar System.

Yet Mother Gaia reigns supreme, and we are expected to fight wars for Her even while, under Her petticoats, we shiver and starve in the dark. But Vladimir Vernadsky and Krafft Ehricke will yet have their day. Another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration.

I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
