The last theocratic absolute monarchies on earth are not, after all, going to have an easy time defeating their own creation in Iraq and Syria.
That creation is still seen by much of their own populations as a legitimate and welcome reaction to Shi'ite domination in Iraq and to Alawite domination in Syria.
Remember that Emirati female fighter pilot? Her family disowned her and expressed its support for Islamic State.
We should never have had any part in any of this.
It is not too late to pull out.
We should pull out and arm the Kurds.
ReplyDeleteWe should pull out, all right.
DeleteGood to see that you had a Merry Christmas.
It took us a long time to arm them in Iraq and Kobane. But why didn't we do that from the beginning and save ourselves the bother of going in?
ReplyDeleteNone of this has anything to do with us.
DeleteYes it does. If you don't know the history of how we created the Kurds modern day problems by scattering them among oppressive Islamist despotisms then do some reading.
ReplyDeleteWe created the mess they're in in Iraq and everywhere else.
It's about time we made reparations.
I've been reading this kind of thing for more than 20 years.
DeleteWe did a lot of things to a lot of people as the defeated Central Powers fell apart.
