No Bluff Cove

The death of Sir Henry Leach ought to have brought back to the public mind the sheer uselessness of Margaret Thatcher where the Falklands were concerned. But it didn't. Must we wait for her own death? Or will the fawning media be derelict even then?

It is jaw-dropping that she has been able to present herself as the heroine of the hour. I don't know why there aren't statues of her in Argentina. Although it is also worth pointing out that she experienced no electoral bounce as a result of the Falklands War: at the 1983 General Election, her party took fewer actual votes than it had managed in 1979.

  1. No wonder you are no longer formally linked to the court media. Their loss, but also the general reader/voter's.
