Cameron Cannot Cut The Cable

The Lib Dems never expected to be in government, and as a party they could easily survive the loss of office; in fact, as a party they could easily survive the loss of anything other than the First Past The Post electoral system, of which as a party they are entirely a product.

Whereas the Conservative Party, as such, is historically so accustomed to office that it could not have survived a General Election loss last year, nor could it survive a return to Opposition at any point before 2015.

I'm not entirely sure what the smiley is for *raised eyebrow* but if I did it would be here. How are the lib dems a product of FPTP? And if they are should someone maybe mention it to them?

  2. You'd have thought that they'd have noticed from the ruinous effect that every other system has on them whenever any such thing is put in place.

  3. They really ought to get the message from the results that they have always notched up in elections to Holyrood, Cardiff and the GLA, and to Strasbourg and to Scottish local councils since they were changed to PR.
