The Trump Card

The field is now open for a Democratic candidate on record as supporting the Canadian single-payer healthcare system, now that Donald Trump, of that view, has withdrawn from the Republican field that he was leading, leaving the way clear for the prophet and apostle of socialised medicine, who ran for the Senate from Ted Kennedy's left.

But then, the presenter of The Apprentice over here is in receipt of the Labour Whip in the House of Lords, which is only ever extended to card-carrying members of the party. He was appointed to that House, not by Tony Blair, but by Gordon Brown. Just as any real Labour Movement must recognise and celebrate the role of business in providing employment, generating wealth, sustaining communities, supporting good causes, and so on, so any businessperson with an ounce of common sense must recognise and celebrate the importance to economic efficiency of decent healthcare, education, housing, transport infrastructure, wages, working conditions, and so on.
