Look at the industries that we have allowed to go to the wall, or that we have actively caused to do so.
But two alone are treated as absolutely sacrosanct.
Yet neither employs very many people in the great scheme of the British economy, nor does either employ anyone at all who could not be redeployed.

The other is the manufacture of arms for sale to Saudi Arabia, which is the global nerve centre of Islamist terrorism, and which, not before time, Scotland Yard is investigating for war crimes in Yemen.
