A Kick In The Yellowbelly?

It would appear that, for the second time in a week, Labour has failed to win a seat that Labour has never, ever won.

There's not much news in the run-up to Christmas, is there?

The by-election to watch will be at Leigh, between Paul Nuttall and probably a Corbynite Labour candidate, there being one obvious name in that frame.

Cracking the North, on the assumption that Corbyn is unpopular here, is UKIP's last chance.

Nuttall's defeat will take down both him and his party.

A UKIP defeat at Sleaford and North Hykeham is also a bit of a story.

But neither a Labour defeat nor a Conservative victory there is any kind of story at all.
