You could be forgiven for having missed it.
But it is now a weekly occurrence: "Theresa May To Bring Back Grammar Schools."
It'll never happen, and the calls for any new grammar schools to be located only in deprived areas, or to have quotas of pupils on free school meals, indicate that even their proponents do not believe in them in their own, strictly educational, terms.
May's own girls' grammar school did not merely convert into a comprehensive. It merged into a much larger, mixed one. That was the school that sent her to Oxford.
