A charming email reminds me that I once abandoned a projected book entitled Eminent Blairians, because I realised that there had never been any.
To this day, the only subject of whom I can think would be Simon Cowell, whose electoral endorsement was avidly sought by both main parties in 2005 and in 2010.
He backed the winner on the first occasion, and the nearest thing to a winner on the second.
In his heyday, he was a figure of greater political importance than either Tony Blair or anyone who ever served in any of Blair's Cabinets.
And that says everything that needs to be said about what was, alas, the prime of my life.
