Patrick S. O'Malley writes:
I realize that the words written here will sway no one's political beliefs, nor do I think they will cause anyone to vote that otherwise would not. I do hope your readers will pause and give thought to them.
I read last week that almost 12 million American jobs have been outsourced, mainly to Asian countries. Suppose that hadn't happened. With 12 million more Americans on payroll, the demand for goods and services would surge and we'd be in an economic boom rather than an economic bust.
So, who's to blame? Republicans? Democrats? Businesses wishing to maximize profits? Those of us that patronized them? You decide.
One thing is for sure: Carly Fiorina is running for Senator. She admits to being personally responsible for outsourcing 30,000-plus Hewlett-Packard jobs. She was called, "the worst CEO in America" by Technology Magazine. She was fired by H.P. and took a $21 million severance. She has now come up with an idea on how to get those 12 million jobs back. By having the federal government give huge tax breaks to those corporations that did the outsourcing to bring the jobs back home. How about that? Make money by off-shoring, then make more money by bringing the jobs back.
Pull the lever for whomever you wish, but do so with the above in mind.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: how could they find no one better than Barbara Boxer to see off this candidate?
