What, to be removed for uniting his previously fractious party, for taking it to parity and beyond in the polls, and for making it the largest party in local government, all on a programme which threatened to turn the impending General Election into the proper contest that, with his removal, it would be prevented from becoming?
As for "the new generation", a very young audience member on Question Time rightly called on the unions to fund appropriate individual candidates regardless of party, if any. Ed Miliband, who will be 41 on Christmas Eve, should take note. As should the unions.
