In Spite of Dungeon, Fire and Sword

For all the difference that it has made, the "free" schools legislation managed to be rushed through in time for this autumn. So it can be done. Therefore, that which has just come into effect should be termed, not Harriet Harman's Equality Act, but Theresa May's Equality Act. Mrs May was a very overt Anglo-Catholic twenty years ago, but something seems to have changed.

Anyway, this evening and tomorrow, hundreds of thousands of us will gather the length and breadth of this land to manifest our membership of a body which upholds both the essential maleness of Holy Orders, and the definition of marriage as only ever the union of one man and one woman, both of which positions are now illegal. I for one greatly look forward to being arrested.
