The Rate For The Job

The vast independent wealth of this Government's members is certainly one of the most distasteful things about its agenda of savage cuts for the rest of us, although much the same was true of the last lot. It sticks particularly in the craw that David Laws the thief is a very rich man.

But we have now had David Dimbleby suggest that David Cameron should be Prime Minister for free, and Michael Portillo suggest that David Laws should not have claimed any expenses. An Opposition with no remaining trade union roots, beyond cashing the cheques written by the weird caste that union oligarchs have become, is powerless to answer this sort of thing.
