What would then happen? Nothing, presumably.
Nothing could bring Israel back, and destroying Israel would have been the sole objective. So that would be that.
I am not advocating this. Nuclear weapons, no matter how used or by whom (which is the point), cannot distinguish between combatants and non-combatants. They are bound, simply because they are what they are, to kill every baby and every little old lady. They are immoral, in and of themselves.
And I have no desire to eradicate the Holy Places and their Greek, Latin, Melkite, Maronite, Syrian Catholic, Armenian, Anglican and Lutheran custodians. (Nor, for that matter, would any Muslim wish to kill that many Muslims, nor any Arab nationalist wish to kill that many Arabs.)
But it does give a sense of context to the debate over Iran, which has no nuclear weapons programme anyway, just as Iraq didn’t.

I am Break Dancing Jesus and your use of the words Melkite and Maronite prove that you are ridiculous, because I have absolutely no idea what they mean so they can't possibly exist. You're STOOOPID! You're STOOOPID! You're the STOOPID one, not me. You are. You are. You ARE!
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't know what "Armenian" meant, either. "Latin" and "Greek" would confuse him in this context. "Syrian Catholic" would confuse him all round. Even "Lutheran" would be a stretch for him, and he can't cope with being stretched.
ReplyDeleteBut the fault is in me, of course.
