It’s all over.
And I think we can all see who the losers are.
The Henry Jackson Society barely functions. The Euston Manifesto doesn’t function at all. The Project for the New American Century’s website has been suspended.
Blair and Howard are gone. Sarkozy and Merkel weren’t what friend and foe alike thought they’d be. Clinton wasn’t nominated. McCain isn’t going to win.
Even Saakashvili has withdrawn from Iraq. There isn’t going to be either a war against Iran or a war against Russia.
And no former Soviet republic not already in NATO or the EU will ever now be let into either, because the risk would just be too great.
So it’s all over.
And I think we can all see who the losers are.

ReplyDeleteGood blog by the way. Just discovered you.

Very many thanks. Do keep coming back.
ReplyDeleteAnd the British People's Alliance?
ReplyDeleteWith Obama languishing at level-pegging, despite massive infusions of cash and near total support from the global media, I'd say McCain's chances of winning are at least as good as Bush's were this time four years ago. A credible third party candidate (such as Pat Buchanan, possibly) can still change that of course. But somehow I can't see Pat's people voting for a black man.
"And the British People's Alliance?"
ReplyDeleteWe have yet to contest an election.

You are thinking of Hillary Clinton's people. Both the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Praty are putting up.
But look out for the result from South Carolina, with traditional Catholic Bob Conley on the same ballot line as Obama. Imagine if that swung it. After all, a re-alignment is about due. Nixon is long dead now.
