The End of Zionism

Israel has quietly but definitely given up on being a Jewish State, and is instead now just a non-Arab one. She merrily flies in all and sundry in order in order to maintain, not a Jewish majority, but just a non-Arab majority. Which is making her a very interesting, if thoroughly unstable, place (and isn’t really working, anyway). But which could not be further removed from Zionism.

Meanwhile, Israel’s world appeal is now largely to the equal status and elevated condition of her Arab citizens. Well, if that (and especially the first part of it) is true, then those citizens cannot be under even the most theoretical risk of eviction in order to make way for any Jew who chose to invoke the Law of Return. Thus, the Law of Return, the touchstone of Zionism, is rendered (or, at least, should be, if what Israel says about herself is true) a dead letter, which should accordingly be repealed.

So Zionism, as such, is dead. Israeli Jews, it is time to get on with the rest of your history. Only repeal of the Law of Return, which places all officially non-Jewish citizens (as distinct from officially Jewish, but actually not Jewish, beneficiaries of that very Law) under permanent threat of eviction, will make this possible once and for all.

And that, of course, will be the definitive end of Zionism.

  1. Been following your discussion of this over on the Harry's Place hijacked Horoshima thread. As you tell them, they'll get a reputation if they keep turning everything into a discussion of Israel.

You are right, of course. If every Jew on earth really did move to Israel, then the Israeli Arabs would have to be evicted to make room for them. So the Israeli Arabs are second-class citizens on racial grounds. Only repeal of the Law of Return can rectify this.
