Not The White Australia Policy

Australia is being accused of regressing to the old White Australia Policy, which once caused an Immigration Minister there to remark that “two Wongs don’t make white”.

But giving priority to subjects of any of Her Majesty’s Realms and Territories (all English-speaking and predominantly Christian these days) would be exactly the opposite of racism, whether in Australia, or in Britain, or anywhere else.

It would not matter one jot what colour those subjects were; indeed, of the 16 Commonwealth Realms, a mere four are predominantly white, and all have sizeable non-white minorities. Contrast this with the European Union, the White Man’s Club.
