If Only They Had Been Made To Repeat A Year?

Proving, as if proof were needed, that the Tories know absolutely nothing about the state education system and that it is none of their business anyway, up pops that peculiar Gove person to suggest that pupils who fail to make satisfactory progress in the final year of primary school should be made to repeat it. What, just the once?

Still, at least the Tories say that they are now fighting for special schools. Well, for some of them, anyway. There will be no special schools for the technically inclined. Nor will there be any for the academically outstanding, regardless of parental income. Funny, that.
