From 14th October 2014 to 11th May 2015, while David Cameron was Prime Minister, his "United Kingdom Anti-Corruption Champion" was Matt Hancock. Yes, really.

Hancock was only ever a Junior Minister under Cameron, while Rishi Sunak did not enter Parliament until 2015, and became a Minister only under Theresa May. "Who doesn't still have the phone numbers of people with whom they were friendly at their old work?" will not cut it.

But Cameron is not primarily to blame. That responsibility lies with the people who took the calls, who replied to the texts, and who went for the drinks. They are the ones in office now. And sadly, they are going to be in office for a great deal longer yet.
