For all his faults, Jeremy Corbyn was the most obviously incorruptible frontline politician in Britain in living memory, if not ever.
But the electorate preferred Boris Johnson, who, among other things, had already been sacked from two national newspapers for lying, had twice impregnated his next wife while still married to his then wife, had been recorded conspiring with an old lag to have a man beaten up, and had recently been found to have "misled" the Queen.
Even the Liberal Democrats had David Laws, and the Labour Right was as thoroughly sleazy when it was last in central government as it has been continuously for many decades across much of local government.
