Eliminate This

The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA) has adopted something called the Feminist Declaration, which calls for action to:

"Eliminate all laws and policies that punish or criminalise same-sex intimacy, gender affirmation, abortion, HIV transmission non-disclosure and exposure, or that limit the exercise of bodily autonomy, including laws limiting legal capacity of adolescents, people with disabilities or other groups to provide consent to sex or sexual and reproductive health services or laws authorising non-consensual abortion, sterilisation, or contraceptive use."

The World Health Organisation defines adolescents as those aged between 10 and 19 years. This is a call to lower the age of consent to 10.

Among the ILGA's British affiliates is Unite, of which I am a proud member. It is about to elect a new General Secretary. That office will next come up for election in 2026.

If by then Unite were still affiliated to the ILGA, then I would contest that election on, among other issues, a promise of disaffiliation.

I may do so anyway, on those other issues. But if this situation still obtained, and unless someone with a higher profile did so, then I would certainly do so on this one.

So-called Safeguarding Coordinators who are trying to send me to prison, this is what you are trying to silence. At the Church's expense.

Meanwhile, join Unite Community.

    1. George will be 72 in 2026, a year older than the age at which Len McCluskey is retiring. He would be proposing to lead the country's largest trade union until he was 77. I would support him if he gave it a go on this basis, but there we are.
