John McDonnell's welcome desire to reverse the privatisation of the NHS is a welcome desire to reverse New Labour's signature domestic policy, which was and is also favoured and promoted by the EU.
The entire concept of NHS privatisation did not exist for 49 years until the NHS fell into the hands of Tony Blair, Alan Milburn and Paul Corrigan. It certainly never seems to have occurred to Margaret Thatcher.
Most Labour MPs are, and will remain, Blairite to the core. Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.
After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I am standing for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
