Watts Stelling Is The One Splitting The Vote

Like all of the Independent Councillors, Watts Stelling has known for two years that I would be standing for this parliamentary seat of North West Durham when it next came up for election. He never expressed the slightest interest in trying for it himself.

No other Independent Councillor has nominated him, or even expressed any intention to vote for him. He has already failed to win this seat twice; I voted for him on both of those occasions, once over the Iraq War, and once over Labour's all-women shortlist. And he is now in his late sixties, whereas I could do the job for 25 years before reaching that age.

You would have to ask him why on earth he had thrown his hat into the ring one last time. But one thing is undeniable. He is the one who is splitting the vote. Nominated though she is by nobody who has ever been elected to anything, Watts Stelling is Laura Pidcock's best hope of re-election. My crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here.
