The only person that Newsnight could find to interview about Bernie Sanders was some Hillary Clinton courtier.

"You can't get more qualified than her," claimed Anne-Marie Slaughter. She was not challenged at all on that preposterous assertion.

Clinton would be by far the most corrupt Presidential nominee ever, of either party. And that would be quite a feat.

In better days, the crooks who were running for President of the United States were different people from the over-entitled turn-takers who were running for President of the United States.

  1. Christopher Hitchens demolition of Hilary Clinton (and her husband) has never been surpassed.

It's worth revisiting his unrivalled account of her record.

  2. I always remember Chris Hitchens ripping Shirley Williams apart on BBC Question Time when she suggested Britain shouldn't give a knighthood to Salman Rushdie because he had offended Muslims, adding that we had to pay for very expensive police protection for him as a result of his books.

Chris Hitchens gloriously replied: "Is there anyone in this room who thinks it's a waste of time or money defending free expression?

And, if you do, can you think of a better cause the money might go on?""

    Indeed.

    1. Rushdie is a whole other story. His most vigorous defenders in the present century took an entirely different view at the time. And he still doesn't like them. At all.
