The Tories Still Don't Get It

Grammar schools, Michael Gove. Grammar schools.

And minimum pricing, Chris Grayling. Minimum pricing. That, and drinks with which immature palates cannot cope.

  1. I don't get it, either. I don't get the point of the call for unpalatable liquors.

Won't kids simply take unappealing drinks and add them to juice or soda to suit their taste -- just like they do now anyway?

  2. Did you like beer the first time you had it? Or whisky? They could do as you suggest with low-quality vodka, and doubtless would. But that's not an excuse to fail to act against alcohol drinks (stronger than beer, in fact) specifically designed for children. As, given how they taste, they must be.

  3. I don't know , Mr.Lindsay .

Perhaps the enforcement of the laws regarding the selling of intoxicating liquors would be a better place to start ?

With you on the grammar schools bit , though .
