Peter Brierley: National Hero

Here.

  1. Oh hardly a hero. Just a rather rude person....albeit one whose son has died in tragic circumstances.
Much nonsense talked about covenant with the Army. The veterans at D Day hardly complained about the equipment they had. Yet todays modern soldier is always complaining. Rather like the Monty Python sketch where Eric Idle complains that the Army is dangerous and only joined for the water ski-ing.

In the early days, the MOD did not do a good job at keeping families quiet and too many went on the record about it being a bad war.
Now within 48 hours the MOD has got to grieving parents who provide the "job he loved doing" quote for the Daily Mail and the Sun.
The new medal helps with keeping the family onside.
Meanwhile the British tax payer will soon be spending £500 million on ex RUC deafness claims.
Good thing that the British taxpayer has too much money at the minute.

  2. On your profile you state "The pro-life, pro-family, pro-worker and anti-war voice of an economically social democratic, morally and socially conservative British and Commonwealth patriot. One Nation politics, with an equal emphasis on the One and on the Nation. Conservationist, not environmentalist. Far too conservative to be capitalist, far too left-wing to be liberal."
, but on the post I came this post on Googling Peter Brierley.
I find your opinion that Mr Brierley being"a rather rude person" VERY strange, I am researching such matter in relation to the use of language in print, especially blogs and their subscribers.
I hope you will not take this message as a rude interruption to your "far too" life…
