Welshing

The Welsh Assembly has frozen the pay of many public sector workers below the rate of inflation, but has decided to increase its own pay by more than that rate, and cannot see the problem.

We in the North-East had a lucky escape from that sort of thing, although the anti-democratic butchering of local government in Northumberland and here in County Durham suggests that we have not yet heard the last of the wretched regional assembly scheme.

Been hanging around party meetings for decades. But couldn’t get into Westminster, couldn’t get into Strasbourg, either couldn’t get onto the Council or couldn’t make any progress once there. So packed off to Cardiff. Or to Holyrood, as the case may be.

Proponents of an English Parliament, take note.
