No, but then Mary Poppins gave a more accurate depiction of London life that EastEnders does. In fact you may as well watch Lord of the Rings, you'll get just as much accurate information from that as from a BBC soap.
If the BBC wished to continue making a soap based around their fictional notion of the white working classes, after about 1990 they should have moved the programme to Essex and renamed it Formerly EastEnders.
Does anyone still watch it? You clearly do, why?
Oh, not religiously. I'm more of a Corrie man. But sometimes there's just nothing else on.
With EastEnders, I play Spot The Error, looking for things like mobile phones in a programme clearly supposed to be set in the Sixties.
