Only supporters of the ruling ideology and hired help of the ruling clique allowed to stand. Staggeringly biased media. Mass abstention in protest. Couldn't happen here. Could it?
Actually, has it really happened in Iran? I'm sceptical. It all sounds far too much like Britain, and I suspect that the BBC and others are engaging in a sort of proxy reporting, as some kind of joke at our expense.
