Trafalgar Day?
A bit of a head of steam seems to be building up to have the unnecessary "Armed Forces Day" on Trafalgar Day. Not only is that at the wrong time of year in these islands' climate, but what would actually be celebrated? An inconclusive battle at which the British Admiral died. Why celebrate that in particular?

Come on David. When I heard his recomendations I thought Lord Goldsmith had been reading you! An extra Bank Holiday to celebrate Britishness and the whole standing up as being proud to be British. It's all you. You should get on to him. He's loaded.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see public holidays throughout the UK on Saint George's Day, Saint Andrew's Day, Saint David's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, the Queen's Official Birthday, and Commonwealth Day.
