How The Armed Forces Can Win Back Public Affection

The Armed Forces should blame the Political Class for the lack of public concern that they now encounter, although I for one have noticed no reduction in the number poppies this year, and am wearing mine with pride.

They should bring themselves home from Afghanistan and Iraq, and march triumphantly through the cheering crowds to remove the present junta and take over until we can once again hold proper elections, i.e., elections contested by proper parties.

This would not be a coup, but the reversal of the coup that we have already endured, and the restoration of liberty and constitutionality by those who, having sworn allegiance to the Queen, do not owe it, when the chips are down (as they certainly are now), to the mere government of the day.

  1. Just to let you know David that inciting disaffection in the armed forces is a criminal offence (Arrowsmith (1974)). You know what this current government is like!

  2. Well, I look forward to the prosecution of the Government and the "Opposition", then. No one has incited more such disaffection than they have.

  3. David, you have really surpassed yourself with this one.

Are these the same cheering crowds who are even now rallying to the standard of the British People's Alliance?

  4. Well, never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Bring yourselves home, lads. Your country needs you. Here.
