Reform UK was always going to select that Matt Goodwin off the telly, so will it be reimbursing the £125 that it fleeced out of each of the other applicants? If not, why not? The Brexit Party stood aside in every seat that the Conservatives were defending in 2019, and today Jacob Rees-Mogg has called on the Conservatives to stand aside for his colleague, since GB News is now its own political party, using either label as convenient. Talk about open borders.
Yet while Nigel Farage has called for "a big rethink" because ICE had "gone beyond its limit", on Leicestershire County Council former Deputy Leader Councillor Joseph Boam of Reform has posted "I stand with ICE", while Reform's Councillor Michael Squires has commended ICE for its "heroic work saving the United States of America" when Alex Pretti "was attacking law enforcement and had a gun". On the second point, so much for the Second Amendment that Reform voters often want over here. The first point is simply inaccurate.
The Department of Health and Human Services feeds its data to Palantir, which feeds them to ICE, which somehow still manages to abduct the wrong people, and on occasion to kill them. In Britain, as well as Shabana Mahmood's facial recognition technology, and as well as a £750 million military contract awarded by this Government, Palantir provides the NHS Federated Data Platform, meaning that it would be able to do for Mahmood's or any future Home Secretary's National Police Service what it was already doing for ICE.
That Home Secretary may be Lee Anderson, who was today seen campaigning for the Gorton and Denton by-election outside Stanley House Function Rooms, in Angela Rayner's constituency of Ashton-under-Lyne, and not in Gorton and Denton at all. The other leading contender on present polling and betting is the Green Party, whose rally this evening, complete with Zack Polanski, was at least in the right constituency, but featured posters that named it "Gorten & Denton". That rally was held in Longsight, the ward of Councillor Shahbaz Sarwar, who unseated the Labour Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council, and who is now the Workers Party candidate for a constituency that he can both find and name correctly.
“who is now the Workers Party candidate”
ReplyDeleteThe Workers Party is unmentionable in civilised company-it’s leader has taken to Facebook to deliver another disgusting post from China fawning over the appalling regime that has locked one in ten Uighur Muslims in detention camps (and he claims to be anti-racist). Hamas, Hezbollah, Assad, the Iranian ayatollahs, Cuba, China. There is hardly a vile terrorist group or regime he hasn’t supported-the only criteria is they must at least be anti-Western.
He’s beyond a joke.
He would have won this seat, and his candidate is very well-placed. At the very least, that candidate will take more votes than the margin of victory. You need to get out more.
