The North Atlantic Treaty does not say what people think that it does, or no United States Senate would ever have ratified it. And the Ukrainians cocked up their false flag operation, so NATO has come up with a cover story that of course no one believes, but to which Zelensky does not even have the good manners to stick.
Meanwhile, there turn out to be war crimes on both sides in Kherson, because of course there are, and abuses against prisoners on both sides, because of course there are. The cream of military America is calling for a deal, because of course it is.
While attention will shift, this war will not end in the lifetime of anyone who was now alive. But this stage of it is approaching the conclusion that we have been predicting from the start.
