At All

On 6th May, will anyone at all bother to vote in Lanchester?

For a quarter of a century, we were told of the voters of this village that, "They only vote at all to vote for him. If he weren't there, then they just wouldn't vote."

And yes, he did spend a generation sailing to the top of the poll, while successive potential alternatives were ignored, or ridiculed, or pitied.

But while he is one of the 14 people who have been elected unopposed to the 15 seats on the Parish Council, he is not a candidate for the County Council.

Well, then, if "they" only ever voted at all in order to vote for him, then presumably no votes will be recorded in Lanchester on 6th May.

We shall see.
